Quick and easy note cards----

Michael's often carries in their "Dollar Area" (now the prices have gone up to $1.50 for most of the items, but I got this stuff last year) some very pretty designs in note cards, but as a recovering rubber stamper, the cards lack a little "oomph".  I decided to add a coat of Mod Podge (I used matte because it's what I had on hand, and it makes a little richer finish but use whatever medium for decoupage you find in your craft closet) to coat the images, then cut and layer them to make notecards.

I strongly suggest when using Mod Podge or any other decoupage medium to coat the rim of the jar with petroleum jelly or lip balm (I keep a tube of the cheap stuff for this use) to keep the jar lid from sticking when you try to open it.  One of those things that takes a couple minutes but makes life so. much. easier.

I use a sponge brush and sometimes I brush on the Mod Podge before I trim my images:
And sometimes after:

After the images are dry, I cut and layered them on to Bazzill type cardstock (I think I got it at Hobby Lobby, just know it was from my stash.)  I made about 30 notecards for my stash this way, here are a few examples:

Have a great day, everyone!
